about serina.
I write with my left hand and brush my teeth with my right. I have a vivid, colorful dreamlife and I laugh at everything. I can cook up a mean cashew nut tofu, and I have this thing I was born with called perfect pitch, which enables me to tell what key your toilet flushes in (in case you're wondering it's likely somewhere between Eb and F#).
I graduated the University of California, San Diego Magna Cum laude in 2007 with a B.S. in Cognitive Science, Human Computer Interaction: I love watching people. Our minds and brains fascinate me, and I am interested in how they work in everyday behavior, the way people interact with technology, and love understanding how the design of a specific interface or product could be geared towards the habits of the user.
I specialize in contextual interviews, user studies, usability consulting and testing, taskflow and workflow analyses and modelling, and translating user research into compelling and intuitive designs. I also design websites once in a while, as you can probably tell by now.
When I'm not busy doing design work you'll find me playing the cello in one of my various bands, teaching and practicing yoga in an amazing community of people, or living in a cave somewhere on the other side of the planet. Either way, I am awake and alive, and infinitely grateful for the many hats I wear.
